Unique Technical Challenges – Christie Hospital Proton Beam Therapy Unit
One of the very few facilities of its kind in the world, this brand new unit really is at the cutting edge of 21st Century medical technology.
Incorporating as it does a number of synchrotron machines and advanced scanning equipment, cooling for these devices is operationally critical. We have worked closely with the site team to facilitate the cleaning and commissioning of the many specialised process closed water systems on this project.
Although not new territory for Excel Building services, the project required a fresh, innovative approach and problem solving based on experienced water treatment operatives, ensuring the facility’s water systems were in optimal condition.
